life and death

Today is a very interesting day. First of all, it is my Mother’s birthday. Second, however, today is the day my Aunt Jean died. I got the call no more than half-an-hour ago letting me know that she had passed. She has been battling cancer for months now and was suffering as she went. My Mother and I are both glad that she is no longer suffering.

We leave tomorrow morning for a week in Ohio. We will be in Columbus, where my aunt lived and her family still lives. We will also be in Dayton, where the rest of the family will be.

Things like this make every single day seem really important. I love and cherrish my family and friends. I love you all.

I will be posting updates, as I can, while back there. See you all in a week.

life of jack

I don’t have very long to write, but I thought I’d give an update on Jack’s first few days with us. He is adjusting well and is even warming up to Baboos. He gets a little nervous when she stands up or moves around, but if she is laying down, he’ll even cuddle her. I have clipped his claws and will continue to do so to avoid damage to the furniture (and us). He’s eating well, pooping well and sleeping… well, for a while he’ll sleep well, but he likes to wake me at 4:30am every day. He has really taken to his new home and seems really happy. He’s even behaving when no one is home. More pictures as I take them!
