In case you’ve been under a rock, Futurama has been back in action for over a year — in the form of 4 direct-to-DVD movies!!
The only way Comedy Central will give them the chance to make regular seasons for TV again is if the DVD sales for the movies do well. So, it’s time to help bring back a show that should never have been canceled! Buy the DVDs!
George Carlin is the first comedian I remember watching and hearing as a kid. And he was the only comedian who was able to make me fall from my chair, roll on the ground and hold my sides from laughing so hard.
A true wordsmith and a man who always said exactly what he meant. He will be sorely missed. The world just got a lot less funny.
In case you weren’t aware, the mountains above Sierra Madre are on fire. The picture above is taken from right outside my apartment. TV news coverage is weak, but a guy who lives down the street from me runs the sierramadrenews.net blog which has the best updates I can find.
So far the fire hasn’t damaged any homes, but it’s getting dangerously close. Click on the picture above to see all the shots I have taken since the fire started. I will continue posting pictures as I take them.

I finally caved in and switched back to thePlayland as my home on the internet(s). I was using mostlypatrick.com for a while there and found that I just wasn’t posting. Now, I’m home again and it feels so good.
My older brother and his wife just produced life! I am officially an uncle to Robin Michael Alexander Lastname. He’s pretty cute and has the family chin. You can read all about the whole experience and how he’s doing now on his Mom’s blog.
Not sure when I’ll be heading up there to meet the new addition, but I will surely post pictures when I do. For now, check out Soula’s blog for current pics.

Last week Mandy Patinkin asked to be released from his role on “Criminal Minds.” We have honored this request, which was not in any way connected to contract renegotiations or salary issues. His departure from the series will be explained to audiences in an episode to be filmed in the near future and broadcast early next season. We thank Mandy for helping to make “Criminal Minds” a strong and successful series, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors. A new character will be added to the series for next season.

Due to creative differences, Mandy has asked not to return to “Criminal Minds” this season. What the hell?! Now Dead Like Me is going to suck a bit *and* Criminal Minds is no longer worth watching! I don’t plan to watch CM when it comes back next season and I suggest that no one else does either. That would be like watching CSI: Las Vegas with no Grissom, which happened for a few episodes and they SUCKED!
C’mon CBS! What the hell did you do to lose one of the best actors your shitty network has ever scored?!
We can only hope that Mandy decides to return to DLM when they go back to a series format (which is proposed).
